Every Berliner will tell you a different story about what constitutes Berlin – and what exactly makes this pulsating city so unique. A very diverse city where high culture meets grunge. Get a campervan rental Berlin and experience history first hand, eat exquisite food, attend crazy parties, visit more than 175 museums, and do countless other things. Even natives of Berlin are sometimes still surprised by the diversity of their city! However, what all Berliners have in common: free spirit! In this city, you can be who you want to be. There are absolutely no limits to your creativity, and nobody takes themselves too seriously. This city will fascinate and captivate you! Just wait for it.
Those who need a break in the country should consider a Berlin campervan hire and visit one of the many parks it has, such as Tempelhofer Park, Görlitzer Park, Stadtfarm Berlin or, without shoes, explore the barefoot park Beelitz-Heilstätten in Berlin Brandenburg. The many lakes around Berlin are also ideal for relaxing: you can even swim at Wannsee, pedal boats at Tegelersee and romantic rowing in a boat in the Tiergarten. The Tempelhof airport area is also a must-see, it is the only (disused) airport in Germany where you can play football, ride a bike or have a picnic. Since there is a lot of hustle and bustle in the city centre, if you get a motorhome hire Berlin, you should rather park in the countryside and take the metro to the centre.
Berlin lies in the Northeast of Germany, embedded in the federal state of Brandenburg, and its East-West extension covers 45 km; the North-South extension is 38 km. Accordingly, there are several large railway stations in the city: Ostbahnhof (Eastern station), Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) and the station Südkreuz (Southern cross); they are all connected to the large public transportation network. The only airport in Berlin is now the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in the South of the city. After the airport Tegel closed in November 2020 and the BER airport integrated the airport Schönfeld as Terminal 5. The Autobahn A10 encircles Berlin, while Autobahns that lead to Berlin are the A24 & A11 (North), A12 (East), A13 & A9 (South) and A2 (West).
Parking fees for your Berlin campervan hire vary according to location, time of the day and day of the week. Around sightseeing sites like Brandenburger Tor, Fernsehturm, Museumsinsel and others, you pay about €3/h, versus in districts further out you pay about €1 – €2/h. In most districts, you may park free of charge at night. Since parking spaces in Berlin can often be expensive and are in great demand, we recommend using the (free of charge) Park & Ride offer and take the public means of transport into the city. Note: In many cities in Germany, you will need cash money (coins) to park your vehicle! However, there are some park-apps to pay cashless, e.g. ParkNow.
