Motorhome Rental Leipzig

Leipzig is not only Saxony’s most populated city, but it also ranks 8th among Germany’s largest cities. The city is embedded in idyllic nature, and its inner city also offers numerous tranquil nature spots such as the Botanical Garden, the Palm Tree Garden and the zoological garden. The 120 m high “Panorama Tower” in the city high-rise building offers a spectacular view over the entire city.

Another attraction you can visit in your motorhome hire Leipzig is the amusement park Belantis in the South of Leipzig. The Leipzig nightlife flourishes, particularly in the warm summer months, in clubs such as the “Chocolate” in the Barfußgässchen or in various bars and restaurants along the Gottschedstraße.

Getting to Leipzig

Leipzig developed from the intersection of two trade and military roads, and it has remained an important traffic hub until today. The Autobahns A9, A14 and A38 will take you directly to the heart of the city, and your campervan hire Leipzig, via the exit Leipzig-Middle, Leipzig-East or Southwest. Alternatively, you may take the train directly to Leipzig’s main train station. Coming by train from Berlin will only take you 1.5 hours, while from Nuremberg travel time is about 2 hours.

If you travel by plane, you will arrive at the airport of Leipzig/Halle. It connects the city via direct flights with other important domestic airports such as Munich and Frankfurt as well as with major international cities such as London and Vienna. Known airlines like Lufthansa or Eurowings fly from the airport of Leipzig/Halle.

Parking in Leipzig

You may park your campervan and motorhome hire Leipzig anywhere on the side of the road in the Leipzig city area. However, it will be difficult to find a sufficiently large parking space. It is easier to park at the Elsterstausee for €6 per day. For €15a day, you may park in the car park Melinenburg in the Stöhrerstraße, which is centrally located. The parking spaces at the city harbour are also an alternative, the 24-hour parking ticket for campervans costs €10. Outside the city, you may park at the Schützenplatz in Pegau (district Leipzig) all year long and for free.
