Motorhome Rental Lisbon

Being named the World's Leading City Destination in 2018, the incomparable beauty and cosmopolitan diversity of the Portuguese capital are just some of the reasons that make it so popular among travellers. A city bathed by the Tagus River, where the sky is almost always blue, where the cuisine will leave you asking for more, where you can hear Fado in the streets of Alfama and experience history through the immensity of the cultural monuments. In the city of the seven hills, there are an array of places worth visiting such as the Castle of São Jorge, the Cathedral of Lisbon, Praça do Comércio, Elevador de Santa Justa and the list could go on. All these places can be discovered when you hire a motorhome in Lisbon.

Getting to Lisbon

The city of Lisbon (capital of Portugal and the westernmost capital of Europe) is in the centre of the country, on the right bank of the Tagus estuary. The city can be reached in a number of different ways. By plane, there are several international flights to Lisbon Airport. By car, via the different roads that give access to the city such as the A1 (North), A2 (South), A4, A5 (Cascais), A6 (Alentejo), A7, A8 (West), A9 Crel (Lisbon's outer regional ring road). The best way is it search for the fastest route on Google Maps or Waze.

You can get to your campervan hire in Lisbon by train or bus. If you are already in Portugal, you can find trips from Lisbon to various locations in the country such as Porto or Faro, among others. There is also a train connection between Portugal and Spain and several international bus connections.

Parking in Lisbon

When choosing to rent a motorhome in Lisbon, bear in mind that the motorhomes are normally over the maximum height allowed inside the underground car parks in the city centre. Alternatively, you can park your motorhome in the outskirts of Lisbon and use Lisbon's public transport during the day. You may choose the following car parks: Aeroportoparque (open 24h a day - €5 per day) or by Redpark (open 24h a day - €5 per day in the outdoor car park and €7 per day in the covered car park) - both are close to the airport.

Annual events in Lisbon

There is always an event taking place in the lively Portuguese capital. As one of the most diverse areas with options for all visitors, various national and international events are organised annually in the city (and nearby). If you choose to hire a campervan in Lisbon, these are some of the events that take place there.

  • The traditional Marchas Populares de Lisboa‎: one of the oldest and growing traditions in the capital. It is a popular marching competition that takes place in June.
