Overview of the bay in Nice

Motorhome Rental Nice

The English Promenade is a must-see in the capital of the French Riviera. This avenue, which follows the Baie des Anges, stretches for more than seven kilometres, is known throughout the world for its palm trees, blue chairs and luxurious hotels, and has carried its name since the 18th century. In fact, at that time, many English people came here to relax for a few days in the Nice region.

Besides this emblematic avenue, there is a lot to do in a campervan hire in Nice. Being from Nice is a way of life. You will appreciate the atmosphere of the Cours Saleya market, and the colourful facades of Vieux Nice will blow you away. You will also be surprised to find a Russian-Orthodox church in the city. It is the Saint-Nicolas cathedral and one of the most important outside Russia. Finally, you can enjoy spending some time sunbathing on the pebbled beaches of Nice.

Getting to Nice

Nice airport is one of the most important in the south of France. It offers destinations all over the world and is a real gateway from abroad. It is also possible to reach Nice by ferry from Corsica, especially Bastia and Ajaccio. By car, the A8 motorway is the most important route to the city. If you prefer to travel by train, the Nice train station is only a few hundred metres from the city centre and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption.

Parking in Nice

Parking a motorhome hire in Nice is not always easy. The Port Lympia car park and the Entrecasteaux car park offer parking for £2.00 per hour. Alternatively, you can park for free in the Cimiez district or around Avenue de l'Olivetto. These spaces are further from the centre, but there is no time limit.

Annual Events in Nice

  • The Port Festival in September. Every year, during a weekend, festivities are organized in the port of Nice. There are concerts, shows and culinary tastings.
  • Les Mai in May. Every Sunday of this month, festivities to highlight the language and culture of Nice take place in the Jardin des Arènes de Cimiez.
  • The Nice Jazz Festival in July. About thirty jazz concerts are organized in the Albert 1er garden or in the green theatre, charging £110 for 5 days of festivities.
  • The Nice Carnival in February. This is the most important carnival in France, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
  • Prom Party in July and August. Concerts of all musical styles are given for free on the Promenade des Anglais.
