Rent the best campervans and motorhomes in Olbia
Olbia is famous above all for the beaches of the Costa Smeralda, such as the four splendid inlets of Porto Istana. But there are also many other things to see in this ancient coastal city. The historic centre blends the Roman style with the medieval one, and it is highly suggested to walk through its streets, full of excavations and churches to visit. Walking through the streets, you can also stop and taste some typical dishes of the city, such as the famous mussels washed down with Vermentino. Olbia is also rich in particular historical artefacts, such as the treasure of gold coins kept in the Archaeological Museum, of which stories are told about legendary pirates.
Volotea and EasyJet are some of the airlines that connect Italy and other European countries to Olbia airport, just 12 km from the city. From there you can easily reach the city centre by bus or by car. Olbia is located in the northeast of Sardinia, a point very close to the Italian peninsula and easily accessible by ferry from Livorno, Civitavecchia or Genoa. Getting a motorhome rental in Olbia is the most convenient way to get here and to explore the surroundings; there are no motorways, but there is a freeway that connects the most important cities of the island. The train station is located in the centre of Olbia and connects it to Cagliari, Oristano and Sassari.
There are numerous car parks in Olbia, both in the centre and in the surrounding area. One of the best paid car parks in the city centre is San Simplicio Parking, with an hourly rate of €0.50. You also have the opportunity to park on the numerous blue lines in the centre, which have prices from €0.80/€1 per hour. If you want to leave your car near the airport, you can use the ParkinGo (Price: €2.80/day) or Saba Parking (Price: €3/day).
