Motorhome Rental Stockholm

Stockholm is an exuberant city filled with culture, history, good food, interesting people and beautiful buildings. Stockholm is home to the royal family, and it is also where many of the world's greatest artists come to perform.

In Stockholm, you can visit Gamla Stan; a historic centre with buildings dating back to the 16th and 18th centuries and where some alleys are barely an arm's length wide.

For those who want to rent a motorhome in Stockholm, this is the perfect starting point as there are plenty of excursion destinations around the city that are well worth a visit. Beautiful Sigtuna, for example, boasts medieval ruins and, in the summer, drives of cultural events. Mariefred is also a nice destination, where you can visit Gripsholm Castle and enjoy the view of Lake Mälaren.

Getting to Stockholm

Sweden is connected to Denmark via the Öresund Bridge and Denmark is connected to Continental Europe via the Jyllands bridge, which makes driving to Sweden very easy. Stockholm is on Sweden's east coast, and you follow the E4 motorway upwards from the Öresund Bridge to get there. You can also drive to Sweden through Finland or cross over on a ferry.

Stockholm has four international airports: Arlanda, Bromma, Skavsta and Västerås. Arlanda is the largest and most popular airport and most major airlines such as SAS, KML, and Lufthansa fly here. It takes about 2-4 hours to fly to Stockholm from typical destinations such as Amsterdam, London, and Berlin.

The easiest way to get to Stockholm from the continent is by train from Copenhagen to Stockholm Central Station. From there you can also get on to both Arlanda and the rest of Sweden. Next to the central station, there is a metro station where you can get around the whole of Stockholm and the surrounding area

Parking in Stockholm

Stockholm is divided into five different areas that determine how expensive it is to park. In the city centre (Zone 1-2) it costs between 26 and 50 SEK per hour, and in Zone 3-5 it costs between 5 and 15 SEK.

Parkaden has two conveniently located parking garages in Stockholm. One in the centre with proximity to shopping and entertainment and the other is located opposite the central station.

Outside Stockholm, In suburbs such as Nacka and Råcksta there are often parking spaces with up to 24 hours of free parking. Stockholm is easily accessible by bus, train, or metro. Travel time varies depending on the place of departure and means of transportation, but on average it takes 30 minutes.
