Rent the best campervans and motorhomes in Toulouse
Toulouse is nicknamed "the pink city". It owes this nickname to the bricks used to build the buildings that bear witness to the city's ancient history, which gives the facades colours ranging from pink to orange. These colours can be found on emblematic monuments such as the Capitole, the Basilique Saint-Sernin, the Hôtel d'Assézat and many others.
In addition to these beautiful bricks, those who hire a campervan in Toulouse can take advantage of the many sunny days to walk or cycle along the Canal du Midi. Some prefer to meet up with friends on the banks of the Garonne to contemplate the spectacle offered by the Pont Neuf and the Dôme de la Grave as they reflect on the water.
Toulouse ranks as the most important city in the Aquitaine region, meaning there are many ways to get there. Toulouse-Blagnac airport, just 8 km north of the city centre, is an important gateway. Transavia, British Airways and EasyJet are all airlines that fly into Toulouse. For road access, the A61 and A64 motorways arrive respectively from the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean. The A62 provides access from the northwest, while the A68 is used by visitors arriving from the centre of the country. A train drops passengers off at Toulouse Matabiau station, just a short walk from the centre of the city.
There are several parking options for motorhome rental in Toulouse. The Indigo Matabiau Ramblas car park near the station and the Capitole car park both offer parking in the city centre for £2.50/€2.90 per hour or £23.50/€27.60 per day. Further out from the centre, the Balma-Garmont car park offers a rate of £1.70/€2 per hour and direct access to the metro to reach the city centre. Another good option is the Blagnac city centre car park as the tram line passes right by.
Before going to the Pink City, it is easiest to plan your arrival in advance and book a campsite.
